UNITY FOR AUTISM GRANT INFORMATION
GRANT MAKING PHILOSOPHY/ PROGRAM EMPHASIS
The priorities of the foundation are to assist charitable organizations that (1) make a profound impact on the development of an individual with autism and related disorders (2) assist families to maximize the potential of their child with autism and related disorders (3) alleviate any barriers to a program as a result of the grant (4) fund research into the causes and consequences of childhood autism.
Proposals must include the attached
Application Form and answer all questions in the designated order. Please use only the space provided on this form to answer the questions. Additional addendums will not be reviewed. Incomplete proposals will not be considered for funding.
The
DEADLINE to submit a grant proposal to Unity for Autism is
Oct 15th of each year. Grant recipients will be announced by December 15th .

Proposals will not be accepted by fax or email.
Unity for Autism is not able to accept grant applications directly from individuals or families. While the Foundation is committed to supporting families, support must be made through registered charitable organizations that provide direct services, family support grants and resources to families.
FUNDING RESTRICTIONS:
The following requests will not be funded by Unity for Autism.
1. Support requested directly from individual families
2. Coverage of continuing operating deficits
3. Multi-year grants
4. Endowments
5. Capital Campaigns
6. Conferences
7. Organizations outside of Canada
Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
Unity for Autism. seeks to fund organizations with administrative costs of less than 30% of the total expense budget. Administrative costs may include, but not be limited to, all general and administrative expenses, professional services and a percentage of employee salaries allocated to general and administrative duties.
